Ali read his LLB at the University of the West of England, Bristol
(1997 to 2000) before moving on to the College of Law, London
(2000-2001). Ali trained at Edwards Duthie Solicitors where
he qualified in 2004 and worked as a criminal solicitor until
June 2009. He joined Saunders in July 2009.
He
has prosecuted in Local Authority benefit fraud cases, environmental
law, licensing, and trading standards matters, as well as privately
defending insurance company clients for road traffic offences
including causing death by dangerous driving. He has also been
instructed by Trade Unions to privately defend their members.
Ali
has defended in a wide range of criminal cases including mortgage
fraud conspiracies and an international car-ringing fraud. He
has also represented clients in Operation Ore and other computer-related
prosecutions and regularly appears as an advocate in the Magistrates'
and Youth Court. He has had a number of successes in the Court
of Appeal.
Ali
plays football in West London and will do so for as long as
his legs, and his wife, will allow.
