| Partner – Property and Commercial Department Robert remembers wanting to be a Solicitor when he was fourteen, and was admitted as a Solicitor in 1971. After being a partner in a London West End firm, Robert ran his own practice for twelve years before joining Saunders Solicitors LLP as a partner in 1999. Robert specialises in property and probate law; he undertakes commercial and residential property, Land Tribunal and compulsory purchase work. He has a substantial Probate practice and deals with Inheritance Tax mitigation. He deals extensively with the high net worth issues relating to financial and property matters that arise in family and child cases. | Member The Law Society Although best known for non-contentious work, Robert successfully litigated Williams & Glyns –v- Boland & Brown to the House of Lords on a point concerning overriding interests in occupation, and successfully took the British Government to the European Court of Human Rights in Silver –v- United Kingdom. To some extent the Silver case was a forerunner of Human Rights law in the UK. | ||||
