We are English Solicitors with a substantial international clientele and focus, operating from London, the International legal forum of choice. We work with our “best friends” global network, but have in-house lawyers dedicated to the Commonwealth, Malaysia/Singapore, and Spain, and are regularly present in the Middle East. Our International portfolio includes private clients from Pakistan, Bulgarian clothing manufacturers, US technology companies, Asian Airlines, Turkish media companies, Russians Banks, Nigerian institutions, and many more. We are Privy Council agents and regularly handle Civil and Criminal appeals to the Privy Council as the final court of appeal for a number of overseas jurisdictions. We act in International Arbitrations, favoured in the commercial world for their speed and discretion. We specialise in Worldwide Freezing Orders, and relish their inherent pressure and urgency. We handle Immigration issues, and Extradition cases through to the House of Lords. London being a global financial centre, we undertake Financial Services & Markets regulatory litigation for the International Financial Services community. We routinely deal with a wide range of International commercial agreements and disputes, but also unusual International problems, such as a manslaughter prosecution concerning a climbing fatality at the Summit of Mount Everest, a rights dispute over ancient artefacts from Sudan, and International criminal law matters. |
We collect formal evidence through International Co-operation Treaties and legislation, Commissions Rogatoire and depositions. We work via video links into the English Courts, as we have recently from Poland and Nigeria. If required, we will just get on a plane to New York or Pakistan, or wherever else we can find and secure the vital evidence. We are members of Union Internationale des Avocats, and particularly look forward in 2007 to meeting our friends and colleagues at the International Bar Association conference in Singapore, and the Commonwealth Lawyers Association conference in Nairobi.
