Current Vacancies

Senior Solicitor (5 PQE+) - Public Inquiries and Litigation

Saunders Law is a boutique litigation firm, operating from two sites in the heart of legal London. Regarded as punching above its perceived weight, the firm is regularly instructed in high-profile litigation and public inquiry work.

Our public inquiry team is currently advising on three high-profile public inquiries and is engaged in newsworthy litigation involving Brexit, Hillsborough and many other publicly important cases.

We are looking to recruit a commercially astute, 5 year (and above) PQE solicitor to join our rapidly growing team.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of managing and advising on public inquiries, perhaps at lead level. In addition, we need a candidate who has demonstrable litigation experience, across a broad range of disciplines. These will likely include: public law, privacy, professional regulation and other civil litigation.

The role will involve managing a team of two, currently engaged on a major public inquiry, whilst also conducting other litigation, reporting directly to the partners.

The firm is friendly, down to earth and driven by a desire to provide excellent client care by fighting exceptionally hard for clients' rights.

We can offer exposure to engaging and exciting work, not routinely undertaken in a smaller and collegiate firm, which is growing rapidly, with excellent opportunities for advancement. Salary shall be dependent on experience.

We look forward to receiving CVs with covering letters which should be marked for the attention of Matthew Purcell. A covering letter should set out:

  • Current and expected salary
  • Notice period
  • Details of prior and current financial and commercial performance

Paralegal Positions - Police Misconduct and Civil Liberties

Saunders Law seeks two paralegals to join the Police Misconduct and Civil Liberties department.

The successful candidates will support our solicitors who specialise in civil claims against the police and other public authorities, judicial reviews, and inquests. The role consists of assisting with case preparation, legal research, document management, interviewing witnesses, attending conferences and court, general administrative tasks, billing tasks, and dealing with new enquiries. The ideal candidate should have an excellent academic record and be able to demonstrate a commitment to upholding the rights of individuals. Previous experience is desirable.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, busy, and expanding department. We are ranked in Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500. We offer a competitive salary, excellent prospects, training and support. Our trainees are recruited from our paralegals.

Email CV and covering letter to Ceri Lloyd-Hughes at clh@saunders.co.uk by 9.30am on Monday 4th February 2019.

Paralegal Position - Grenfell Tower Inquiry

Saunders Law seeks a paralegal to assist with matters arising from and in relation to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry.

The firm is friendly, down-to-earth and driven by a desire to provide excellent client care by fighting exceptionally hard for clients' rights. We have previously acted for an individual before the Leveson Inquiry and Parliamentary Committees in the wake of the News of the World phone-hacking scandal. We are also instructed in relation to civil proceedings arising out of the Hillsborough Stadium disaster in 1989, as well as for Core Participants in the ongoing Undercover Policing Inquiry.

With regards to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, we represent an individual Core Participant who was bereaved as a result of the fire.

We are looking to recruit a paralegal to work alongside a solicitor, primarily focussing on disclosure analysis, client care, legal research, document management, case preparation and billing, as well as attending Inquiry hearings and conferences.

The successful candidate will be flexible and self-motivated, and able to demonstrate a commitment to upholding the rights of individuals. The role involves working both independently and on group tasks, and on client-specific matters and as part of a wider cross-firm group of legal representatives.

The ideal candidate should have an excellent academic record and previous legal experience of one or more of the following areas: actions against the state, inquests, public inquiries, housing law and contract law.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly, busy, and expanding office. We are ranked in Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500. We offer a competitive salary, excellent prospects, training and support.
