Human Rights solicitor vacancy

Saunders Law is seeking a solicitor of 1-4 years’ PQE to join our Human Rights Department.

The successful candidate will specialise in claims against the police and other public authorities, Article 2 inquests into deaths in custody, public law challenges including failures to prosecute rape and domestic violence, along with the potential opportunity to work on the Covid Inquiry. The role consists of all aspect of case preparation including corresponding with clients, obtaining and analysing records, interviewing witnesses, drafting witness statements, drafting instructions to counsel and experts, considering expert reports, attending conferences and court.

The ideal candidate should have experience specialising in at least one of these areas of law, excellent attention to detail and tactical awareness, be accustomed to dealing sensitively with vulnerable individuals, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to challenging state authorities and upholding human rights.

You would be joining a close-knit and collaborative team with a strong knowledge-sharing culture, and work on important and often ground-breaking cases. You would have the opportunity to spend some time working remotely.
