Week 2 – Keep work life and personal life separate.
A common stressful situation is keeping personal and work life separate. It is not a secret that lawyers work hard. It is a highly competitive profession with high expectations, heavy workloads, and at times the pressure can be overwhelming. When this happens it is time to sit back and manage those stress levels.
Utilise the lunch hour if you are working in the office: go for a walk, attend a class involving meditation, or even chair yoga which can be performed in the comfort of your office space to improve concentration and increase strength. Exercising during your break may not be for everyone, so consider meeting a friend for coffee, take time out from work so you can re-set and get back to work allowing you to perform to the best of your ability. Once the day is done turn off the tech, try and practice “out of sight, it is out of mind”.
If stress levels persist or increase consider if it is time for a break. Remember everyone deserves time off from hard work to enjoy a holiday. You should not worry about taking the time away, everyone should be able to rely on their colleagues to help out in their absence.
How do you deal with everyday stress.
