Owen joined Saunders as a Paralegal as part of the Public Inquiries team in May 2024. He is currently assisting the team on the Covid-19 Inquiry.

Prior to joining Saunders, Owen worked as a caseworker at the Grenfell Project at Citizens Advice Kensington & Chelsea, where he provided specialist casework for Grenfell Tower Fire-affected (survivors, bereaved and wider community) clients. He has experience representing clients, including advocacy, in First-tier Tribunal (Social Security and Child Support) claims, drafting and submitting Upper Tribunal (Administrative Appeals Chamber) appeals, supporting clients in the Employment Tribunal and navigating social housing tenant issues.

He started working at the Grenfell Project after doing Pro-Bono work for Citizens Advice as a volunteer adviser over the course of his legal studies.

Owen has attained his GDL and LLM LPC, achieving a commendation in both. For his LLM dissertation, he wrote a practitioner’s article on the case of Uber BV v Aslam [2021] UKSC 5.

During his undergraduate degree in the US at Occidental College, Owen conducted field research volunteering at the Mission for Migrant Workers in Hong Kong while producing his thesis documentary exploring the experiences of Overseas Filipino Workers. He also collaborated with the US State Department’s Special Representative for Muslim Communities as part of a small student taskforce during the Obama administration.
