Sumaiyah is part of the Human Rights team at Saunders Law and currently represents a number of individuals in the Hillsborough Victims’ Misfeasance Litigation, which arises from the police cover up following the Hillsborough Disaster of 1989. She is experienced in Actions Against the Police and Public Inquiries.

Sumaiyah has represented a number of clients under the Lambeth Children’s Home Redress Scheme re historic child sexual abuse, assisted on the civil actions arising from the shooting of Mark Duggan, as well as a range of Actions Against the Police and State work, including police complaints, wrongful arrest, assault and false imprisonment, and immigration detention claims.

Sumaiyah previously worked as a Solicitor at a leading firm representing Bereaved, Survivors and Residents of the Grenfell Tower fire at the Public Inquiry and associated civil claims. She has also worked alongside the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain.

She is a member of the Police Action Lawyers’ Group and Inquest Lawyers Group.
