Saunders Law secures exoneration of former News International Director of Legal Affairs, Jon Chapman

Saunders Law client Jon Chapman, former Director of Legal Affairs at News International has today been completely exonerated by the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal ("SDT") of any wrongdoing in the News of the World Phone Hacking scandal.

Jon, who gave evidence to the Culture Media & Sport Select Committee, and the Leveson Enquiry, was accused by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority of concealing from News International emails between Editor Andy Coulson and staff suggesting corrupt behaviour.

The SDT carefully analysed the evidence and found that Jon was never shown the offending emails. Jon was also accused of improperly leaning on an outside lawyer to reach a particular conclusion on the case.

The SDT found communications to be entirely proper and commended him as an honest and credible witness and a Solicitor of independent mind.

The full judgment of the SDT is available here.
